Frequently Asked Questions

1.       How do staffing companies work?
Not all staffing companies work the same. We work with hundreds of local and nationwide companies to provide temporary and temp-to-hire positions. There is never a fee to the employee or applicant for our services. Gem State Staffing recruits and employs people to fill positions that most closely fit the requirements for our client’s assignment.

2.       What kind of jobs do you offer?
We work in a wide variety of industries. Construction, manufacturing, production, clerical and administrative, truck driving, delivery driving, hospitality etc… (Gem State Staffing does not work in the medical field)

3.       What companies do you work with?
Because of confidentiality agreements with our clients, Gem State Staffing will not advertise the names of the companies we service.

4.       If I worked for one Gem State Staffing location do I have to complete a new application to work for a different location?
Currently Gem State Staffing has five locations. While we are the same company we do not share a database of employees and applicants. If you move to a new location you will need to complete a new application for consideration.

5.       How much will I get paid?
Gem State Staffing negotiates pay rates with its clients based on the skill, experience, and local economic standards for each location. All of our positions will vary in compensation.

6.       Does your company offer benefits?
Because our ultimate goal is to find everyone a full time position with our clients, we do not offer a benefits package to our temporary employees. Most temporary employees are hired by our clients after a short trial period as a Gem State Staffing employee.

7.       What do I need to bring with me to apply for work?
You will need two forms of identification to meet federal employment regulations (I-9). Drivers license, social security card, birth certificate, passport, military ID etc…… We also encourage applicants to bring a copy of their resume and any certifications received through previous employment or education.

8.       Do I need to make an appointment to apply for work?
No. However, each branch has dedicated hours for interviewing applicants. Please contact your local office for details.
